Making Easter Brunch Easy
Easter is the time of year that flowers begin to bloom, children (young
and old alike) enjoy chocolate bunnies, and families and friends
come together to celebrate. Gathering together for breakfast of brunch
can become a "production" so we have provided a few time
saving tips for serving up a fast and delicious Easter Brunch.
Night Before
Load that coffee maker with water and ground coffee beans. Set tea bags
and cups out for self service.
Set the table with plates, mugs, glasses, napkins, flatware
and any condiments that don't need refrigeration (sugar,
whole fruit, cereal, etc.). Decorate the tables (find
decorating ideas below: Festive Decorations).
Feeding a Crowd
Picking the right menu is crutial and deciding how it is served will
cut down on the time you spend in the kitchen. Buffets are ideal for
large groups and there are dishes that can be prepared the day before
and simply placed on the buffet table that morning. We recommend cutting
fresh fruit (melons, pineapple, grapes) and tossing them with a touch
of fresh lime juice. Baked breads or cinamon rolls can be prepared
ahead of time, frozen, then defrosted the night before.
Just Heat It
Roasted potatoes can be baked the night before and reheated in the morning.
Casseroles and quiche are also great choices for reheating.
Festive Decorations
Add a joyful and playful touch to your brunch with a few decorations.
Centerpieces can be easy and brighten up a buffet table. Fill a basket
with easter eggs and if you don't have time to dye them, use the colorful
plastic eggs. If you are planning a seated brunch, decorate each place
setting with individually wrapped candy.
