Classic Mashed Potatoes

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds MountainKing® Butter Gold Potatoes, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 4 tablespoons butter (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup half & half (warm)
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • white pepper to taste

Preparing

  1. Place the potato chunks in a 2-quart saucepan with water to cover and add salt. Boil for 10-12 minutes, or until potatoes are fork-tender. Drain well, leaving potatoes in saucepan.
  2. Add the butter and half & half. Using a potato masher, mash potatoes and mix well.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
