Ingredients
- 2 pounds MountainKing® Butter Gold Potatoes,
peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 1/2 cups skim milk
- 1 Tablespoon flour
- 3 Tablespoons finely minced fresh sage
- 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
- salt & freshly ground pepper
Cooking Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Cut the garlic in halves and rub an 8 x 8 inch glass
baking dish with one piece of the garlic. Spray the
dish with
vegetable oil and set aside.
- Chop the garlic. Melt butter in a sauce pan
over medium heat.
Add garlic. Whisk
in flour. Slowly add milk whisking constantly breaking
up any chunks of flour. Continue to whisk over heat
until sauce begins to thicken.
- Layer the potatoes
in the baking dish, alternating with the sauce, sage,
salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the remaining sauce over the potatoes-it should
cover the potatoes to a depth of three-quarters. Bake
for an
hour or until
the potatoes are golden. Serve immediately.
Note: Russet may be substituted.
